Lionel Bayol-Thémines

Having developed a long fictional plastic research, focusing on man's relationship to its history, to his memory, Lionel Bayol-Themines has been developing since 2013 an issue of man's relationship to nature, ecology where two worlds coexist in a symbiotic manner, or rather two spaces, one real and one virtual.  Inspired by the philosopher Vilém Flusser - who questioned the history of images and their creative process - or by some artists - such as Joan Fontcuberta - who worked on the "truth" of photography, its ability to represent reality, to testify or manipulate history, Lionel Bayol-Themines creates original images that question the ability of digital photography to generate other "realities". The artist also claims the material dimension images by developing photographic sculptures.
