Born in 1933 in Peru
Herman Braun-Vega, Peruvian painter lives and works in Paris for more than thirty years. His work builds itself around the syncretism and around the artistic and cultural, ethnic and political interbreeding. The painter tries to activate the memory of the spectator - the historic memory through the iconography of the great masters of the western painting, the social and political memory through the introduction of contemporary situations and also the memory of the individual real-life experience - without sacrificing the plastic and esthetic quality of the works.
